Marco Ng

I'm a game developer, as well as the director of Otterweave Games Studio LTD.

I have recently graduated from the University of York, and have skills in both design and technical development in games and interactive experiences.

I have created various games in different genres, including an award-winning exploration game project, as well as a non-linear exploration game that was an official game selection of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Also worked on BlackFell as the major Unity developer, an interactive opera experience once featured in Financial Times.

The Contract is a short interactive story that features multiple endings depending on the progress and selections which you have made. You will control the protagonist and talk to various characters as the story unfolds.

MR. SWORDSMAN & MR. SORCERER is a strategy dungeon crawler that allows users to control two characters and use different skills to attack the enemies or support the other character.

EMITIME is an award-winning game prototype that has received the Audience Favourite Award in the IM Showcase 2021.  It uses “time” as the overall theme and you can try out different types of gameplay and mechanics in this story-driven experience.

Operation U is a third-person shooter with platformer elements developed in Unity. In this short demo, you will be able to test out various weapons on the enemies and engage yourself in an exciting boss fight.

THE SKETCHBOOK is a 2D pixel art game developed in HTML & JavaScript that features a real-time-based combat system themed around “The enemy’s attack is your attack”. This game demo will allow you to experience a short gameplay with brief narratives. I have also created all the pixel artwork, as well as programmed the underlying game engine using Canvas API.

Party Animals -Hospital Rush- is a party game that lets you play as an animal doctor to cure the illness of different patience. You can customize your character's appearance with outfits in the lobby and play a total of 3 minigames of different themes. It currently supports single-player but you can compare your highest scores with your friends!

Workshop No.25 is a short exploration game which makes use of the "Factor-based Model" to create a compelling non-linear narrative experience. In this game, you would be following the journey of Beau and Raymond to retrieve the heritage in Workshop No.25, which is left by Beau's great grandfather.

GUARDIAN.EXE is a stylized VR action game that aims to provide a satisfying action-packed experience, while requiring strategic thinking from the players. In this game, players have to defend the shrine as a guardian by summoning and setting up magical attacks using “Shikigamis”. There are three types of summons that you could choose so try them all out!

QRCOOK is a mobile social cooking game made in Android Studio, where players have to collect ingredients by scanning QR codes in real life and create dishes that match the customers’ tastes. This game also allows you to share your own ingredients with your friends by generating a QR code for the ingredients.

EMITIME is a Roguelike Grid-based deck builder where music and beat are your strategies. Expand your deck as you defeat the enemies you encounter along the way, and switch between the two protagonists from the past and future as you explore the map!
